Kendrick Lamar - Wesley's Theory

Track 1 on To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar.

Kendrick explains this song on an MTV interview. The first part of the song is what Kendrick used to think before he got a deal, as shown with lyrics like "When I get signed, homie, I'ma act a fool". The second part of the song is talking about how nobody was taught what to do with the money once you get where he grew up so when you become rich you misuse it. This goes back to the title of the song which is a reference to Wesley Snipes who was jailed for not paying taxes. Kendrick in this song is saying that the system misleads people on purpose to spend more than they are able to.
