Kendrick Says He's The Closest Thing To A Preacher For His Fans

In a New York Times article with Kendrick Lamar he says for many fans “I’m the closest thing to a preacher that they have.” He's realized this while on tour and while his word isn't as strong as god's he believes himself to be a vessel doing his work.

He talks about this on a Breakfast Club interview, he says that kids nowadays don't have much belief in anything but they live by his music so if he says something that god would want then he is the closest thing to preacher that these kids will listen to.
