A jury found Donald Trump liable for battery and defamation against E. Jean Carroll, she was awarded with $5 million in damages. Carroll claimed Trump raped her in a Manhattan department store in the mid 1990s and then defamed her by denying her claim and attacking her character. The jury found that Trump sexually abused Carroll but did not find that he raped her, they also found that he defamed her.
