Hamas claims that Israel has violated the ceasefire agreement and thus has delayed hostage release. Hamas alleges that Israel has not been allowing displaced Palestinians to come back to northern Gaza and that Israel has not been giving enough aid per [their agreement](https://www.forgedbytime.com/post/israel-and-hamas-agree-to-ceasefire-deal-set-to-begin-january-19-1305). So far in the agreement only 16 of the 33 hostages have been released and only 670 of the 1900 Palestinian prisoners have been released.
